Ayurveda Massage Therapy Diploma Course

Ayurveda is the ancient holistic system of health from India which has been practised for over 5000 years.

Ayurvedic treatments involve establishing an individual’s constitution and the nature of the imbalance and then seeking to return the individual’s body and mind to a state of healthy balance.


This course is designed to teach you the theory and practice of Ayurveda Massage, from taking a consultation, to working out the constitution of a client and then providing a treatment to suit their particular needs.

About this Ayurveda Massage Course ...

This is a 6 day course teaching qualifed therapists in the art of Ayurveda Massage.

Ayurveda originates from India and literally translates as the "Knowledge of Life".  It beautifully combines the centuries old theory of Ayuveda and combines it with the practical elements of Ayurveda massage.

The course is complete in itself and focuses on the massage elements of Ayurvedic Medicine so as to be practically applicable for the western trained massage and body therapist.

What will I Learn on this Ayurveda Massage course ...

This Ayurveda Massage course will cover the theoretical and practical elements of this ancient form of traditional Indian Medicine.

Some of the topics covered will include:

  • Understand the meaning of the word Ayurveda, and some of the objectives and methods of Ayurvedic treatment
Benefits of Ayurvedic Massage
  • Understand the basics of Tridosha Theory
Learn some of the characteristics, functions and locations in the body of the three “Doshas - Vata, Pitta and Kapha”

  • Understand the concepts of Prakriti and Vikriti 

  • Start to become familiar with the concepts of “Dhatu”, “Mala” and “Srota”, and learn the Ayurvedic view of how tissues are formed

  • Understand the principles of “Ama” and “Agni”

  • Learn some ways of reducing Ama in the body and therefore restoring good health
  • Basic Marma theory and application
  • Basics of Pulse and tongue diagnosis
How to perform a full body Ayurvedic Massage, - Head, back, abdomen and extremities
  • Heating of the oils and their correct application

Ayurveda Massage Course Prerequisites ...

Students must hold an Ofqual accredited Level 3 Diploma in Massage including Anatomy and Physiology or equivalent, or higher.

Without an accredited Diploma, you may be able to attend the course, but you will not receive an FHT, CThA, Think Tree or IICT accredited certificate. This may affect your ability to obtain professional insurance.

Without an accredited Diploma you may not be able to join the FHT, CThA, Think Tree or IICT, or other professional body.

When submitting your Student Details form, you must also supply us with copies of your existing accredited qualifications to receive the course certificate. Supplying this information too late may result in your certificate being printed without the FHT, CThA and IICT logos. Additional charges may be incurred to print the correct Certificate.

What does accredited mean?

Accredited qualifications are those that are reviewed, recognised and monitored by regulatory bodies in order to make sure that they meet specific criteria and quality standards.

Current UK accrediting bodies are;

  1. Ofqual
  2. SQA
  3. CCEA

Overseas Qualifications

If you have arrived in the UK from overseas and have existing qualifications, those qualifications may meet an acceptable standard in the UK. NARIC can provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to UK qualifications with a document called a ‘Statement of Comparability’.

You can also request an 'English Language Assessment' document, which may help determine your current level of English.

Ayurveda Massage Course Length ...

This Ayurveda Massage course is taught as a fast track and intensive program.

It is covered over a total period of 6 days in total, usually taught as a 4 day and 2 day block.


To complete and gain certification for this course, students are required to complete 6x Case Studies.
