London School of Massage: Course Terms & Conditions

The following provisions shall have the meanings given to them below:

“We” or “Us” means the London School of Massage

“You” means the applicant or prospective applicant or [student]

“Course” means a defined period of time on a single course type as described on the London School of Massage website.

"LSM" refers to the London School of Massage

The content of the pages of this website is for your general information only. It is subject to change without notice.

Your use of any information or materials on this website is entirely at your own risk, for which we shall not be liable. It shall be your own responsibility to ensure that any products, services or information available through this website meet your specific requirements.

All logos, trademarks and contents reproduced in this website which are not the property of, or licensed to the London School of Massage are acknowledged on the website according to copyright laws.

The London School of Massage reserves the right at all times to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, governmental request, examination and awarding bodies, or to edit, refuse to post or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, in at the London of Massage’s sole discretion.

Neither we nor any third parties provide any warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy, timeliness, performance, completeness or suitability of the information and materials found or offered on this website for any particular purpose. You acknowledge that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law.

When you make a booking and pay a deposit, a place will be reserved for you on the Course. [Deposits are non-refundable.] 

A minimum of 50% of the Course fees are payable on application.

To retain your place on the Course, you must pay the balance of the Course fee 7 days prior to the Course commencement date. This can be paid online (if booked via the website), via Bank Transfer or by telephone.

You are liable for the payment of Course fees in full, before the end of that training and regardless of whether you complete the training or not.

Upon receipt of your original booking, further details and instructions will be forwarded to you. If for whatever reason payment is not received, attendance at the Course will not be permitted.

You must commit yourself to attend all classes and in the event of unavoidable circumstances, notify the school as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.

We reserve the right to expel without refund any student who is consecutively late or non-attending for more than 10% of classes.

London School of Massage reserves the right to ask a student to leave a Course (without recompense) if in its opinion a students behaviour is deemed not conducive to a team environment.

As the course relies on practicing on each other, if you have a medical condition, religious or other reason which prevents or restricts you from being massaged you may be required to bring a model with you.  This model may be used by you or others for the duration of the course, this is dependent on the numbers on the course.

We deem this fair to ensure everyone on the course has someone to practice on. If you arrive on the day without a model, you may not be able to take part in the practical sessions. If you have any of the conditions below please inform us before or during booking.  If you're not sure, call us to discuss, all given information will remain strictly confidential.

If you have a condition that requires medical permission or approval before addending the course, please email or post the medical permission to the school no later than 1-week of the course start date.

Pregnancy - if you are pregnant, you will not be permitted to take part in the course without a Doctor's or Specialist's Permission/Letter. You will not be permitted to receive a massage under any conditions, regardless of the trimester or permission, to ensure your health and safety at all times.

Pairing During Practical Sessions

Payment is due when you make a booking. At least half the fee is required on application and the remainder to be paid before the discounted date (if you want to take advantage of the discounted price), or 7 days prior to the original Course commencement date (where you will have to pay the full balance of the non discounted rate). Payment is due immediately should the booking be made within 7 days of the Course commencement date. All deposits and payments are non-transferable and non-refundable for whatever reason.

Only cheques which have 'cleared' will be treated as received. If you fail to make any payment when due, London School of Massage reserves the right to levy a late payment charge calculated at the rate of 2% per month accruing daily from the date the payment becomes due.

When you have successfully completed a Course you will be sent the appropriate level of certificate (diploma or certificate). Where Courses are externally assessed and accredited, there will be a delay in you receiving the diploma certificate. This will be forwarded to you via post to the address held on our database.

Should you need to change an exam time or postpone to a later date, this will also be subject to the current fees which are charged by the examining body.

It is also your responsibility to make sure that details held on our database are up to date and correct as all Course information and certificates will be forwarded to the current details which are held.

Cancellations will only be accepted if made in writing and received within 14 days after the booking of a course (starting the day after).

You acknowledge and understand that your rights to cancel are lost (even where courses are booked during the cancellation period) where digital material/files have been supplied.

You acknowledge and understand that course digital material/files can/will be provided during the cancellation period, unless otherwise requested by yourself in writing.

If the LSM has to cancel a Course midway due to an outbreak of COVID-19 within the school or due to Government Regulations, the Course will be rescheduled for a later date.  No refunds will be allowable in these circumstances.

All booked courses are non-transferable and non refundable.  The original Course cannot be transferred to another person at any part of the Course, for any reason.
LSM will endeavour to do its best to accomodate you on another course, but this is not guaranteed.

London School of Massage reserves the right to improve the specification and format of its Courses for the benefit of all its students/applicants without notice. Tutors may be changed without prior notice in instances of unforeseen circumstances.

The location and date of the Course will be as advised to you at the time of booking. London School of Massage reserves the right to change the location of the Course and will advise you as soon as this change is known.

London School of Massage reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any Course and will advise you as soon as this change is known. We will use all reasonable endeavours to avoid changes of this nature. When this is unavoidable London School of Massage will refund in full all fees paid by you, or transfer you to another rescheduled or alternative Course.

Sitting / Resitting / Rescheduling Exams

In the unlikely event that you need to retake a subject you will be entered for the next available exam date. This will be subject to the current fees which are charged by the examining body plus administration fees. You may be required to attend additional training or refresher days at your own cost to ensure you meet the standards set out by the examining body.

You must take your original exam or rescheduled exam within 6-months of your original training course.  Failure to take your exam within 6-months of your original course date may require you to purchase refresher sessions to ensure you are ready for the exam.  Later than 1-year and you would be required to take the course again, at your own cost.

The location and date of exams will be as advised to you at the time of booking to be confirmed before enrolment. London School of Massage reserves the right to change the location of the exams and will advise you as soon as this change is known.  No reimbursement to students at this time will be applicable.

You accept that it is your responsibility to verify that the Courses you apply for are suitable for your requirements and that that you have the necessary level of competence and prerequisite qualifications where necessary to be able to achieve the objectives of the Course.

Except as required by law, London School of Massage will not be liable for any indirect losses and damages arising in contract, tort (including negligence) and any other reason. Except as required by law, London School of Massage will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses or damages (including loss of anticipated profit or data or for any expenses incurred with joining that Course), howsoever arising, even if it has been advised of such potential loss.

We may assign our rights and obligations under these terms and upon such assignment we shall be relieved of any further obligation under these terms. You are not permitted to assign your rights and obligations under these terms.
