London School of Massage – Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between you (the applicant, prospective applicant, or student) and the London School of Massage (“we”, “us”, “LSM”).
1. Definitions
* We / Us / LSM – Refers to the London School of Massage.
* You – The applicant, prospective applicant, or student.
* Course – A defined period of instruction as listed on the LSM website.
2. General Provisions
* Website content is for general information only and subject to change without notice.
* Use of information/materials is at your own risk. It is your responsibility to ensure suitability for your needs.
* All third-party trademarks and content are properly acknowledged.
* LSM reserves the right to:
* Disclose information to meet legal or regulatory obligations.
* Edit or remove materials at its sole discretion.
* No warranties are provided regarding accuracy or completeness.
3. Bookings
3.1 Confirmed Bookings
* Full payment confirms your place once accepted via email or letter.?
3.2 Provisional Bookings
* A non-refundable deposit secures your place.
* A minimum of 50% of course fees is required upon booking.
* Balance must be paid 7 days prior to the course start date.
* Full payment remains due regardless of course completion.
3.3 Student Responsibilities and Eligibility for Enrolment and Certification
* It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they meet all required prerequisites and entry qualifications before booking or purchasing a course. This includes any prior training, certifications or experience necessary for enrolment.
* Entry requirements are set by the relevant awarding, approving or accrediting bodies and may include prior qualifications,
* training, experience, insurance or professional status.
* Students who meet all required criteria and successfully complete the course will be issued with a certificate bearing the relevant awarding or approving body logos, where applicable.
* Students who do not meet the required entry criteria may still be permitted to attend the training at the discretion of the London School of Massage.
* In such cases, certification will be limited to a Certificate of Attendance only and will not include awarding or approving body logos nor confer any formal qualification or accreditation.
* No refunds, transfers or compensation will be provided if a student is unable to obtain a full accredited certificate due to failure to meet prerequisite or eligibility requirements.
* Students are strongly advised to contact the LSM office for clarification before booking if they are unsure whether their qualifications or experience meet the required standards.
4. Refunds / Requests to Transfer Course Dates
4.1 Standard Policy
* No refunds of deposits or payments will be made if you:
* Choose not to attend
* Fail to attend
* Do not complete a course?This includes reasons such as personal circumstances, change of mind, or relocation.
* No refunds are available for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training days for any reason.
4.2 Illness-Related Absence
* In cases of serious illness, at LSM’s sole discretion, a refund or course transfer may be considered.
* A doctor’s certificate is required to support such requests.
4.3 COVID-19 Considerations
* If you are unable to attend your course due to:
* Contracting COVID-19
* Being in a vulnerable health category
* Needing to self-isolate??No refund will be issued, but:
* LSM will offer you alternative course dates at no extra cost
* This is subject to availability and handled on a case-by-case basis
5. Attendance Requirements
* Full attendance is expected.
* Notify the school in advance if absence is unavoidable.
* Students absent or late for more than 10% of the course may be expelled without refund.
* Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may also result in removal from the course without recompense.
6. Practical Sessions & Medical Considerations
Courses involve practical massage sessions between students.??You must:
* Participate in both giving and receiving massage, with both male and female students.
* Inform LSM of any medical, religious, or other reasons you cannot receive massage.
* Provide a model if you're unable to receive massage yourself.
* Notify LSM in advance and provide medical clearance where required.
* Pregnant students may not receive massage under any condition. You may be required to bring a model who can be massaged by other learners in the class. Failure to do so may prevent participation in practical sessions.
Medical Conditions That May Require Clearance
Includes but is not limited to:
* Skin: eczema, psoriasis, warts, infections
* Muscular: injuries, myositis, arthritis
* Cardiovascular: high/low blood pressure, heart condition, DVT etc.
* Respiratory: asthma, bronchitis, COPD, pulmonary disease etc.
* Neurological: epilepsy, neuritis, etc.
* Digestive: chronic inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal aneurysm etc.
* Urinary / Reproductive: pregnancy, endometriosis etc.
* General: major illness, surgery, prescribed medications etc.
7. Hygiene and Equipment
* Strict hygiene standards apply, in line with government guidelines.
* Certain courses require students to purchase additional equipment or materials to meet training and assessment standards. These may include, but are not limited to, massage oils, essential oils, towels, uniforms, massage couches, bolsters, holsters and other course-related supplies.
* A full and final list of required equipment may not be available prior to purchase of the course. Requirements may vary depending on awarding-body criteria, course updates, tutor guidance or changes to industry standards.
* It is the student’s responsibility to obtain all necessary items at their own cost.
* You must bring all required equipment from the first day.
* Failure to bring or obtain required equipment may result in exclusion from practical sessions and no refund or transfer will be provided.
8. Payment Terms
* At least 50% payment is required at booking.
* Full balance is due 7 days prior to course commencement.
* All deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
* Payments made within 7 days of the course start date are due in full immediately.
* Late payments are subject to a 2% per month charge, accruing daily.
9. Certificates and Exams
* Certificates (Diploma or Certificate) are issued upon successful course completion.
* Externally accredited courses may result in delayed certificate delivery.
* You must keep your contact details up to date.
* Exam changes, resits, or delays are subject to examining body fees and may require re-enrolment or refresher training.
* Exams must be taken within 6 months of the original course; after 12 months, full re-enrolment is required.
10. Cancellations and Course Transfers
* Cancellations must be made in writing and received within 14 days of booking (starting the day after the booking is made), in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
* You acknowledge and understand that your right to cancel is lost — even if the course was booked within the 14-day cancellation period — once any digital course materials/files have been supplied. This is in line with Regulation 37(1)(b) of the above legislation.
* You acknowledge and understand that digital course materials/files may be provided during the cancellation period, unless you explicitly request otherwise in writing at the time of booking.
* If the London School of Massage cancels a course due to COVID-19 or other Government-mandated restrictions, the course will be rescheduled to a later date. In such cases, no refund will be offered.
* All course bookings are non-transferable and non-refundable, including between individuals and course dates.
* While LSM will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative date where appropriate, this is not guaranteed and remains at LSM's sole discretion.

10.1 Additional Costs and Liabilities
* LSM will not be responsible for any additional costs or consequential losses incurred by students — including but not limited to accommodation, travel, or subsistence expenses — in the event that a course is cancelled, postponed, rescheduled, or relocated for any reason.
* Students are advised to consider appropriate insurance to cover such eventualities.?
11. Course or Tutor Changes
LSM reserves the right to:
* Improve course content
* Substitute tutors without prior notice
* Change course or exam location
* Cancel or reschedule courses (in which case, fees will be refunded or transferred)
12. Coursework and Assignments
* Late assignments are subject to examining body and admin fees.
* Late submissions may delay exams and require re-enrolment.
13. Behaviour and Code of Conduct
* All learners must treat others with respect and courtesy, regardless of background.
* Zero Tolerance Policy: Aggressive or threatening behaviour will lead to immediate expulsion without refund. You must find and fund alternate study arrangements yourself.
14. Copyright and Materials
* All course materials and website content remain the intellectual property of LSM.
* Materials are for personal use only.
* You must not copy, distribute, or use LSM materials for commercial or teaching purposes.
* No recordings may be made without lecturer consent.
15. External Links
* LSM is not responsible for content on external websites linked on our site. Links are provided for convenience only.
16. Assignment of Rights
* LSM may assign its rights and obligations under these terms. You may not do so without consent.
17. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England. Disputes will be resolved in the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
