This Spinal Articulation & Mobilisation course is open to any individuals who have prior training in Sports Massage Level 3 or higher. Body Massage Therapists will be considered on individual merit but please check with your insurance companies prior to booking this course.
This course has been specifically designed with the Massage Therapist in mind but is open all practising therapists including Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors and Sports Science practitioners (with massage training).
About this Spinal Articulation & Mobilisation Course ...
This course in Spinal Articulation and Mobilisation will focus on providing the theory as well as practical application of thoracic and lumbar spine techniques over a 2 day workshop. It will include articulation of thoracic and lumbar spine joints to help improve joint function and range of movement as well as mobilisation techniques to release restricted segments. The course will incorporate simple assessment methods so as to guide the practitioner to the correct choice of technique.
What will I Learn on this Spinal Articulation & Mobilisation Course ...
This Spinal Articulation and Mobilisation course will systematically guide the practitioner through the theory and practice of joint articulation and mobilisation of the thoracic and lumbar spine. It will allow the smooth and effective integration of these techniques into their own daily practice
Learn the Theory and Clinical Application of:
Body Palpation - how and what to feel.
Surface anatomy of the body
Understand the terms, Articulation, mobilisation and manipulation
Appreciate the benefits of mobilisation and manipulation
Appreciate the mechanisms of joint manipulation
Understand what is meant by the para-physiological space / barrier
Appreciate Cautions & Contraindications to manipulation
Specific Techniques:
Thoracic spine – assessment and mobilisation
Ribs – assessment and mobilisation
Lumbar Spine – assessment and mobilisation
Sacroiliac Joint – assessment and mobilisation
NOTE: NO MANIPULATION FOR THE CERVICAL WILL BE TAUGHTON THIS COURSE
Students must hold an Ofqual accredited Massage Level 3 (minimum). This course is advised for Sports Level 4 and higher so if don't have this qualification, please check with your insurance companies prior to booking this course.
Without an accredited Diploma, you may not be able to attend this course or be able to join the CMA, IICT, or other professional body.
When submitting your Student Details form, you must also supply us with copies of your existing accredited qualifications to receive the course certificate. Supplying this information too late may result in your certificate being printed without the accreditation logos. Additional charges may be incurred to print the correct certificate.
