Frequently Asked Questions:

Cupping Therapy Massage Course London

What is Cupping Therapy?

Cupping therapy is a complementary technique that uses suction cups (often glass or silicone) placed on the skin to create negative pressure. It’s used in traditional medicine in several parts of the world, and in modern bodywork it’s often integrated into cupping massage and sports-style treatments. There are different approaches, including dry cupping (suction only) and wet cupping (involving skin pricking), and methods can also include “fire cupping” in some traditions.

Cupping is most commonly used to support muscle tension and pain relief, and many people also find it relaxing. Benefits Include:

  • May help ease back/neck pain and muscular tightness
  • Supports a feeling of improved circulation and loosened tissues in treated areas
  • Often leaves clients feeling relaxed and “lighter” after treatment

At the London School of Massage, the Cupping Course is taught as a fast-track, intensive 1-day workshop.

This course is inclusive of an accredited certificate along with an e-coursebook.

To receive an BCMA, IGCT and IICT accredited certificate, you will need to hold an OFQUAL-accredited Level 3 Diploma in Massage (or equivalent) that includes Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology.

Students who do not currently hold a valid massage qualification may still attend this course for personal or professional development. However, in this case, a Certificate of Attendance will be issued instead of an accredited course certificate.

This is an in-person, hands-on practical course, taught at LSM training venues, with theory plus supervised practice on the day.
