The Pa Khaw Ma, also known as Pha Khao Ma, Pa Kao Ma or Thai massage cloth, is a traditional Thai woven cloth used in everyday Thai life. In massage and bodywork, it becomes a powerful therapeutic tool for assisted stretching, rocking, mobilisation and supported movement. This course is ideal for therapists who want to expand their skills beyond traditional massage and offer a more dynamic, movement-based treatment.
In this floor-based Pa Khaw Ma course in London, the client is treated on a comfortable floor mat. This allows the therapist to use body weight, balance and movement more effectively while reducing strain on the hands, thumbs, wrists and shoulders. Floor-based treatment is especially suited to therapists already working with Thai massage, sports massage, assisted stretching, deep tissue massage or mobility-based bodywork.
During the course, learners will explore safe cloth handling, client positioning, floor-based assisted stretches, gentle traction, rocking techniques, compression and full-body treatment flow. The course places strong emphasis on client safety, contraindications, professional communication, practitioner posture and adapting techniques to suit different body types and mobility levels.
